equality & diversity

Since day one, back in 2011, this Academy made it its mission to be inclusive and embrace diversity. A decade later, we are proud to have done so, and even prouder to have actively worked in this direction. Since 2018, our parent company, Coaching Evolution International, has been supporting the United Nations 2030 Agenda and the 17 Sustainable Development Goals.

The Coaching Evolution International Academy is committed to abiding by, supporting and promoting Goal 5 (Achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls), Goal 10 (Reduce inequality within and among countries), and Goal 16 (Promote peaceful and inclusive societies for sustainable development, provide access to justice for all and build effective, accountable and inclusive institutions at all levels).

dignity and respect

Of the most important values that we expect our staff and learners to demonstrate are dignity and respect. We are committed to protecting the dignity of all within the Academy community in their work, their study and their interaction with one another. In order for the SDGs to find their way in the mind and practice of all graduate coaches, we understand the need to create an environment in which the rights and dignity of all members of this community are respected.

the academy as a community for equality & diversity

To become a true coach, the practitioner needs to be free from prejudices and beliefs that may limit them from seeing the potential in their clients. We are very clear on who we want our students to be from the very start so we aim to accept individuals who have the desire to make a positive impact, who work with ethos and integrity and are not afraid to stand their ground when it comes to supporting their values.

The election, appointment, admission, progression, dismissal or exclusion of every member and employee of the Academy is determined by personal merit, conduct and performance, criteria related to the duties and conditions of the post and the needs and obligations of the Academy.

Equal opportunities are part of our policy and we encourage, support and help all students and staff to reach their full potential. No applicant or member of staff will be treated less favourably than another because of his or her sex, marital status, sexual orientation, ethnic or national group, or disability. Any discrimination on grounds of race, sex or sexual orientation, political or religious conviction or otherwise, has no place in the Academy.

how we promote equality and diversity

We have created our coach training in such a way that it supports and promotes the UN Sustainable Development Goals. This is done either directly through the 2030 Agenda Coach© programme or through the content of all our courses. The purpose is to build consciousness among the learners and guide our students to define their own values that will give them the specific know-how as regards the purpose and values of the SDGs and empower them to make a social impact thanks to their coaching values, skills and vision for a better society. In particular, we have focused on a number of targets including those in the next section below.

specific targets the academy pursues through its coach training courses

Below are the specific targets relevant to our parent company Coaching Evolution Int'l and our Academy for Goals 5, 10 and 16. Our courses and particularly the 2030 Agenda Coach© support and promote all the following targets:

Operations

The Equality and Diversity section is our most recent newly formed section and it is a specialist advisory section that sits within the Academy’s Executive Board. Its role includes supporting equality and diversity policy development and implementation, and reports to the Academy Council. It seeks to engage all Academy staff and students in promoting a positive and fully inclusive environment, in line with the equality legal duties for the education sector. It also aims to maintain support for teaching and professional integrity and excellence.

Under the Equality & Diversity legal policies, the Academy is bound to adhere to all laws and ethical practices that protect members of the staff from discrimination, harassment and bullying.
